There are a large number of (inter-) national flights to Lisbon (3 hours south of Aveiro) and Oporto (1 hour north of Aveiro). From these two airports, participants can use rail, bus or rental car services to reach Aveiro.
Arrivals to Oporto airport (Aeroporto Sá Carneiro):
There is an Aerobus service that goes to the city centre and a metro service that goes to the main railway station in Oporto (Campanhã).
The Aerobus service stops at Avenida dos Aliados near the São Bento railway station.
The metro (8' and 38' of every hour) for Campanhã railway station (line E) takes about 50minutes . Trains from Oporto (Campanhã railway station) to Aveiro railway station take about 1h. Check the Portuguese Railways website
Arrivals to Lisbon airport (Aeroporto da Portela):The metro for Oriente railway station (line red) takes about 9 minutes. Trains from Lisbon (Oriente railway station) to Aveiro railway station take about 2h to 2.5h Check the Portuguese Railways website
The Aveiro railway station is a 25 minutes walk, a 10 minutes bus-drive and a 7 minutes taxi-drive from the University of Aveiro.
